Trump asked me on date, says Emma
ACTRESS Emma Thompson has revealed she once turned down dinner with Donald Trump.
The Oscar-winning star told her story on a Swedish news programme when the discussion turned to the tycoon turned president.
She explained she had been in the US filming 1998 release Primary Colors after her divorce from Kenneth Branagh.
She said: “The phone rings in my trailer … I lift up the phone, ‘Hi, it’s Donald Trump here.’ I said, ‘Really? Can I help you?’”
The star, known for her liberal views, said Trump offered her accommodation at Trump Tower and said they should meet for dinner.
She said that she had not met up with the thricemarried president but joked: “I wish I had, think of the stories.”
