Olympian’s pep talk for 10k runners
OLYMPIAN Eilish McColgan yesterday offered training tips to six participants planning to take part in a women’s 10k race.
She met “ambassadors” of the Simplyhealth Great Women’s Run in Glasgow at the city’s George Square.
With just more than 10 weeks to go until the race, McColgan told them: “If you’ve never done a run before, a 10k is a good place to start.
“You can go from the couch to a 10k in 10 weeks – it’s all about building it up gradually.”
The race on Sunday, June 4, starts at Kelvingrove Park.
Life in old dog yet
Pet dog Nalu, 10, was revived after being pulled lifeless from a burning flat in Santa Monica, California – after a firefighter spent 20 minutes resuscitating the pooch.
