LET’S hope it’ll be all right on the night come Sunday. But after Scotland’s drab draw against Canada the Hotline is predicting doom against Slovenia.

Sandy Lorraine said: “I hope Strachan is thinking hard about his job now. That game was horrendous to watch. Even with a reserve team we should be beating them with ease.

“The manager picks players who’re not even getting games for their clubs or have hardly even played this season. “Roll on Monday when he hands in his notice.”

Frank Muldoon, Glasgow, said: “Scotland haven’t a hope against Slovenia if they can’t beat a rotten Canadian side.

“Listening to Strachan after the game was like Groundhog Day. He spoke about his players needing to feel good about themselves and being good team-mates. Half of me wants us to lose on Sunday so we can say good riddance to him.”

Tony Edwards, Derby, said: “We are witnessing the end of days for Strachan as Scotland boss. It will all be over on Monday.

“I have never wanted my country to lose a game before but I don’t want us to beat Slovenia as it will only fuel false hope we can qualify for the World Cup and keep Strachan in a job for a few more months.”

Alan McBride, Kilsyth, said: “I went through to Easter Road with my kids and sat there wondering what they must be thinking about this Scotland team.

“I remember my dad taking me to Hampden and the magic of watching guys such as Kenny Dalglish, Graeme Souness was amazing. Watching the likes of Christophe Berra, Barry Bannan and Chris Martin just shows how far things have fallen.”
