TINY VICTIMS OF NERVE AGENT Shattered dad shows world his dead twins.. two of 20 children killed by Assad’s air strike

A HEARTBROKEN dad shows the world his dead twins to expose the horror of the Syria gas attack.

Abdul Hamid Youssef was pictured holding Ahmed and Aiya – killed in Tuesday’s bombing raid on the city of Khan Sheikhoun.

The attack left 75 people, including 20 children, dead in an atrocity that brought global condemnation on Syrian president Bashar al-Assad – although his forces have denied responsibility.

Youssef said he lost 20 members of his family in the strikes. He is believed to be ill himself after being exposed to the chemical, thought to be the nerve agent sarin.

Warplanes yesterday mounted five more air strikes against the Syrian city.

Human rights observers say the chief suspect for the latest bombing on a rebel-held area was, yet again, the Syrian air force.

It came as world leaders, human rights campaigners and health chiefs called for an urgent investigation into the attack.

The British-based Syrian Network For Human Rights said Assad’s regime had launched nine chemical attacks this year. They claimed he breached UN Security Council resolutions 167 times.

Russia’s defence ministry – who support tyrant Assad – said the gas was from a bombed rebel chemical weapons depot.

A rebel commander said that was “a lie” and there are no chemical weapons dumps in the area.

Hasan Haj Ali, commander of the Free Idlib Army rebel group, said no rebel military positions in the area were targeted on Tuesday. He added: “Everyone saw the plane while it was bombing with gas.”

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia will stand by its ally Assad, despite his regime’s atrocities. Peskov

said: “Russia and its armed forces will continue their operations to support the anti-terrorist operations of Syria’s armed forces to free the country.

“In our work with the Security Council, Russia will present the facts which have already been laid out by our defence ministry.”

Moscow branded a proposed UN resolution condemning the chemical weapons attack and demanding an investigation as “unacceptable” and warned it would veto the move – as they have all previous moves that would harm Assad. The US government believe the sarin was used in the attack and a source said it was “almost certainly” carried out by forces loyal to Assad.

They dismissed the Russian claims about a rebel chemical weapons depot exploding.

A US official said: “That strains credulity. Russian assertions do not comport with reality.”

US President Donald Trump last night denounced the attack as an “affront to humanity”.

The Syrian military denied responsibility, saying they would never use chemical weapons.

Yesterday, the Syrian American Medical Society said they had sent a team of inspectors to Khan Sheikhoun, in Idlib province.

The province is almost entirely controlled by the Syrian opposition and is home to 900,000 displaced Syrians, according to the UN.

Rebels and opposition officials have warned repeatedly that the government are planning to mount a concentrated attack on the crowded province.
