I hope my Adrian wind-ups don’t backfire on me

GARY ANDERSON hopes slagging off pal Adrian Lewis doesn’t come back to haunt him.

The pair met in Cardiff last week and the Scot produced a dazzling display to hammer Jackpot.

Naturally Anderson gave his mate some good-natured verbals about being top dog and was settling in for a sustained spell of wind-ups, only for the fixture computer to place them face to face tonight again in Dublin.

Anderson now hopes to make sure he’s not eating his words and said: “Adrian will come out all guns blazing and wanting revenge.

“Plus he can almost make my win last week null and void by beating me. We’d be back to where we were a fortnight ago.

“But equally I need to be positive because if I win then I’ll put daylight between him and I in the race for the O2.

“I just know what Adie is like. He will be smarting from last week. We’ve had a bit of banter and I’ve been digging him about the result. He doesn’t take stick lightly, trust me.

“He’ll like nothing more than to come roaring back and shove my words back down my throat.”

Anderson currently holds one of the cherished play-off places but is aware the position is tight. He added: “That’s the thing about the Premier League, all the players will say it’s a bit of a rollercoaster.

“It’s just about grinding out the points when things aren’t going your way.”

Raymond van Barneveld is bidding to extend his fine run of form when he doubles up alongside James Wade.

The Dutch star is on the season’s best run after winning four successive games during March and could move top of the table.

The 2014 champion will play Phil Taylor first then left-hander Wade.

The night’s opening game sees Wade taking on league leader Michael van Gerwen.

Dave Chisnall faces Scots ace Peter Wright.
