Sister taunts Spice Girl’s ex after reunion with singer

MEL B’s sister has lashed out at the singer’s ex Stephen Belafonte telling the “sorry excuse of a man” to “rot in hell”.

Danielle Brown had been estranged from her sister for almost a decade after the former Spice Girl fell out with her family over Belafonte’s behaviour.

But Danielle, 36, celebrated their reunion yesterday in an Instagram post, and said that the family were “united” again.

She wrote: “Eight years of abusive calls me and my mum have had stating we would never see Melanie again.

“I am laughing and celebrating as you were wrong. You are a sorry excuse of a man.”

The sisters’ mum Andrea, 60, corrected Danielle, saying that the family had received “almost 10” years of abusive calls.

Mel, 41, who wed Belafonte in 2007, was granted a restraining order against him on Monday, after filing for divorce.

In papers submitted to a Los Angeles court on Monday, Mel, who has a daughter, Madison, five, with Belafonte, alleges she suffered a decade of violence at his hands, and claims he got their nanny pregnant.

In her post, former Emmerdale star Danielle referred to the couple’s nanny Lorraine Gilles, 26, and Lorraine’s husband Michael Bleau.

Mel alleges the pair were involved in a company called Events Locker, who Belafonte transferred £48,000 to.

Danielle posted: “I hope you, Lorraine Gilles and Michael Bleau go to jail and rot in hell.”

Mel reconciled with her family shortly before her father died in March, which is believed to have sparked her split from Belafonte.

Danielle wrote that their father would be “dancing in his grave” at the news.

In the court documents, Mel alleges that Belafonte “had a huge resentment against my family” and “would do anything to keep them away from me”.

She also claims he “intentionally delayed” her return home in February to visit her dying father, where she reunited with Danielle.

Belafonte, 41, “vehemently denies” the allegations and has accused the singer of a “smear campaign” against him.

His lawyers have dismissed Mel’s claims as a “charade” intended to “gain leverage both financially and with respect to custody of the children”.

The statement read: “It’s a shame that Ms Brown elected not to proceed in a respectful and amicable fashion in this very private matter.

“In due course, Mr Belafonte will be filing his response to the outrageous and unfounded allegations made by Ms Brown, allegations which he vehemently denies.”

As well as Madison, Mel has two other two daughters, Phoenix, 17, and Angel, 10,

Belafonte has a 12-year-old daughter, Giselle, with ex-girlfriend Nicole Contereas.

In December 2014, days before the final of The X Factor, Mel claims that she took an overdose of aspirin, and alleges that Belafonte locked the bedroom door to prevent her calling 999 and told her to “die, b **** !”

After the Leeds-born singer was hospitalised at the time of the alleged incident, Danielle and Andrea posted several messages on Twitter begging for updates on Mel’s condition.

Danielle posted to Belafonte at the time: “STOP with your evil lies.

“You told me and my mum yesterday she is fine and not in hospital.

“Now you say she is sick but OK, where is my sister? What have you done?”

She claimed she had recorded an “abusive” phone call from Stephen at the time.
