THE BAND, 26.06.18

KING’S THEATRE, GLASGOW

-

TAKE That’s new musical, The Band, will open in Scotland next summer.

It will be at the King’s Theatre in Glasgow from June 26 until July 7 and at the Edinburgh Playhouse from July 10-14, 2018.

The Band will feature Five to Five, winners of BBC talent show Let It Shine, and is being produced by Take That members Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen, as well as Robbie Williams, alongside award-winning London West End duo David Pugh and Dafydd Rogers.

They confirmed the dates on stage at the Manchester Apollo, where Take That first performed in 1992.

Although the music of Take That provides the soundtrack to the show, the musical is female led, following a group of 16-year-old girlfriends from 1992 to when they reunite 25 years on and try once more to fulfil their dream of meeting their heroes.

The Band will be played by AJ Bentley, Nick Carsberg, Yazdan Qafouri Isfahani, Curtis T Johns and Sario Watanabe-Soloman, who, as Five to Five, won the BBC talent show.

Rachel Lumberg and Faye Christall play the leads of Rachel and Young Rachel and further casting is to be announced.

The script has been written by Tim Firth, who worked with Gary Barlow on The Girls, the critically acclaimed musical take on Calendar Girls
