A BRIDAL shop owner has admitted letting down customers – because she was busy planning her own wedding.

Furious brides have complained of their dresses arriving too late or in the wrong sizes and colours from Natasha Ahmed’s award-winning bridal shop, Fabulosity Boutique.

Some of the scores of brides who took to social media this week threatening legal action said that their dresses didn’t arrive at all.

Issra Layal, a student nurse, said her wedding had been “trashed” after her dress, for which she had paid a £500 deposit, failed to turn up on time.

Jumma Begum, a solicitor from Luton, received her dress a day before her wedding on April 2 – in the wrong size and colour.

After the flood of complaints, Ahmed, who has been off work since January, took time out from her honeymoon to post a lengthy apology online.

The shop owner, whose high-profile clients include SNP MP Tasmina Ahmed-- Sheikh, said she had been “concentrating” on her own wedding preparations.

She tied the knot last month and is on honeymoon in Turkey, having made stopovers in Paris, Bali and Dubai.

On Instagram, she wrote: “I made the tough decision of hiring someone to take care of my business while I concentrated on preparing for my wedding.”

A spokeswoman for the brand, whose shop is in Central Chambers in Glasgow city centre, said last night: “Natasha is on honeymoon, which has been ruined by all of this. But she takes full responsibility as she is the owner of Fabulosity Boutique.”

Ahmed said she tried to cut back on orders but then took on a new staff member to avoid letting customers down.

The spokeswoman said the now former employee had failed to get orders to outside tailors and to relay information about delays to customers.

She said anyone with an issue could contact Fabulosity Boutique on their new customer helpline – 07736 837565.
