WE’VE THE WILL TO SURVIVE

- EUAN McARTHUR

MARCUS HABER helped save crisis-club Crewe from relegation – and insists he’s ready to ensure Dundee also beat the drop.

In 2015, the Canada striker played a leading role in keeping Crewe in League One after a disastrous run of results left them teetering on the brink.

Haber is in a similar position with the Dark Blues as they bid to avoid a sixth straight defeat in today’s clash against Hearts at Tynecastle. Paul Hartley’s side have hit a horrible run with their latest setback Tuesday’s 2-1 loss at Ross County that leaves them hovering above the drop zone.

Dundee could hit second-bottom today if results go against them.

But hitman Haber said: “I’ve been in this position with Crewe.

“We needed to pick up points and it was a grind right up till the last day of the season.

“It’s all about mentality. I’ve been relegated before but I’ve also been in fights where we have stayed up. So I’ve seen either side – and I know which one I prefer.

“But we are still in a position where we can get out of trouble and we have the quality and mentality to do so.

“We have to continue with the level of confidence we have in the squad and believe in ourselves.

“We all know the task ahead. We just need to get back to doing what we were doing when we were having success.”
