PEDRO PICKS DONS TEAM

PEDRO Caixinha refused to give his Rangers team yesterday – then handed Record Sport the aberdeen line-up instead.

The ibrox boss dismissed claims he showed disrespect to Kilmarnock by naming his line-up 24 hours before their midweek clash.

he still has to settle on his starting xi for a game he reckons will be a trip to hell but it didn’t stop him listing the players he reckons

Derek McInnes will use tomorrow by handing out an A4 sheet naming everyone from Joe Lewis to Adam Rooney.

He praised the Dons and said: “They play collectively and fight for their goals. I see it as a fantastic challenge, to see if we have solutions to beat that passion.

“Everyone says we are going to hell. I like those type of scenarios. Football is about challenges.”

Killie’s Conor Sammon claimed Caixinha lacked respect, naming his team before the game, then said his club were spinning it that way even if they knew the real reason.

But the Gers boss said it wasn’t arrogance but a statement of his belief in his squad who must win at Pittodrie to have a chance of taking second place in the league.

He said: “I’m not going to get into that. The Kilmarnock match was over after the post-match press conference.

“But there is one thing you need to understand. There are wars and if I want to get into that war I will go until the end, until either I die or I win.

“When something is different from normal life, everyone takes a step back and asks, ‘What is going on?’

“If I am to be criticised for being different then I am open to that. But I am not going to be one of those who follows the other guy who is going in a certain direction.

“I think with my own head. This is Rangers and we want things to be the way we want them to be.”
