A HEARTBROKEN wife shared her treasured memories of her wedding just hours after hearing her husband had been killed in a horror motorcycle crash.

Shattered Shonagh Donald, 50, was told by police that her 56-year-old partner Jimmy died at the scene after his Triumph was in collision with a Hyundai Tucson 4x4 on Sunday.

Yesterday, police confirmed James, known as Jimmy, of Letham, Angus, was the sole victim in the smash, which happened at 4.14pm on the B9113 back road between Forfar and Montrose.

Paramedics battled to save the badly injured biker but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed and the public and drivers were advised to avoid the area.

Three people in the car were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment to minor injuries.

Officers have appealed for witnesses who may have seen either of the vehicles before the tragedy to get in touch.

Jimmy and Shonagh were married in Letham in August 2014. Shonagh’s daughter Linzi from her first marriage was a bridesmaid.

Jimmy, who was also step-dad to her two other daughters Vicky and Lisa Ann, worked at Don & Low textile factory in Forfar and had studied at Dundee College.

Work colleague Shaun Fairlie described him as “a great lad” who would be “sorely missed at work”.

Tributes poured in on Shonagh’s Facebook page after she posted the couple’s wedding picture.

Friend Lorna Farquharson said: “Shonagh, no words at all. The best of the best is gone. Kindest person in the world, love and hugs to you all xxx.”

Heather Ann said: “Oh Shonagh, I am so very, very sorry to read the comments.

“You were a lovely couple and so right and happy together. My family’s hugs to you and your family.”

Leanne Kemlo posted: “Shonagh, I just heard what happened to Jimmy, just don’t know what to say, am so so sorry and my heart goes out to you all, heaven has gained a great soul xxxx.”

Jenny Walker added: “So sorry to hear about Jimmy, you and girls must be devastated, can’t believe it.”

Police said: “As with all sudden deaths, a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.”

I’m so sorry and my heart goes out to you all. Heaven has gained a great soul LEANNE KEMLO
