C4, 8pm FANCY doing something a bit different this weekend?

But with our measly pound not stretching very far these days, it’s time to ditch the dream of a European mini break and embrace all the weird, wonderful and downright wacky things on our doorstep. Well, the county of Devon, at least.

Comedian Adam Buxton, foodie Clem Green and Paralympics presenter and ex-Royal Marine Arthur Williams are the gung-ho trio who make up the Wild Weekenders in this jolly one-off. They promise to show us the more unusual things you can get up to in the great outdoors, off the beaten track.

Be warned, though, the emphasis is firmly on the “wild”, which seems to prefix every activity promoted, from wild camping and wild pony riding to wild swimming and diving.

Adam checks out places to stay, Arthur’s in charge of getting adrenaline pumping and Clem shows us how to get the most out of Devon’s bountiful produce.

But if the title has you hoping for crazy tales of sex, drugs and rock’n’roll, this wholesome offering probably isn’t for you.

BBC1, 10.30PM IF YOU’RE under 40, you’ll possibly only know Warren Beatty as the old bloke who announced the wrong winner at the Oscars earlier this year.

Over 40s, however, will hopefully appreciate what a genuine screen legend Beatty is. After all, how many other Hollywood A-listers can claim to have been Oscar-nominated 14 times in categories for acting, writing and producing? The answer is none.

Tonight the Bonnie and Clyde star, who turned 80 last month, is on the LEGEND Beatty’s on the sofa
