PEDRO: PROVE IT BAZ

-

From Back Page fans’ favourite won’t make it purely on his ability.

McKay has 12 months left on his current deal but it emerged he knocked back a two-year extension prior to Caixinha’s arrival.

The Scotland cap is unhappy at the terms that were on the table and despite being one of Gers’ top performers and most valuable players, Record Sport understands he was offered less than some current fringe men.

McKay is now waiting on the club’s next move and Caixinha admitted he is continuing to assess the player – who made his full international debut in a friendly against France last June – before making any decision.

The Portuguese boss said: “I want more than just a skilful player. I want him to be more aggressive, to see the game differently and to be more pro-active.

“The fact he is a fantastic MICHAEL O’HALLORAN refused to play with the kids and will now be treated like one of his own by Pedro Caixinha.

The Rangers boss insists the house rules he sets at Ibrox are exactly the same as in his family home after laying down the law.

O’Halloran has been dumped from the first-team squad as Partick Thistle prepare to head across the city tomorrow.

The 26-year-old was also banished from training as punishment for his no-show for an Under-20s game against Hearts on Monday night.

O’Halloran’s time at Rangers has been a big disappointment since his £500,000 move from St Johnstone in January 2016. He has made just six Premiership starts this season and his future is in doubt just over 12 months into a four-year deal.

Disciplinarian Caixinha said: “It’s something that happens with our family and Michael is from our family.

“I have my own rules in my family. My kids for example know what I allow and what I don’t allow.

“When these sort of things happen I need to get involved as a father. I look upon my players as my sons and I am the father who has to take decisions. I just want them to learn.

“But when I have some problems with my own kids in my family I am not going to go public with them. That means I will call it an internal affair.

“If we have some problems inside, like all teams normally have in a small situation, we solve it inside. These things stay at home and if I tell you I am breaking that.

“It is going to be solved, has been solved, at home. The only thing I can tell you is he is not part of the squad for the next match.”

There is now a huge question mark hanging over O’Halloran’s Ibrox future but Caixinha has promised to hold face-to-face talks with every player after he has assessed the entire squad.

Veteran Kenny Miller is another who has been kept waiting on news of a new deal despite his two-goal show in last week’s surprise 3-0 win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

But one thing the Portuguese gaffer is certain about is that he will personally deliver the news.

The 46-year-old said: “I’m still assessing some of them and I will keep doing that on a daily basis to make the best decisions. The more information I can get, the more decisions I will take.

“I will keep going with the assessment and as soon as that process is completed I will make my decision. I will tell them one by one. They are human. They have families.

“When I was working as an assistant coach, I thought the manager was not speaking to the players in a one-by-one situation when the hard decisions were coming.

“And I thought to myself when I am a manager I will make it a one-by-one situation – the players hear it from me. When
