A SPURNED woman’s bid to flog her unused wedding dress has gone viral after she claimed the groom-to-be cheated on her with one of her friends.

Kerry Wilkinson’s online advert states she never got to wear the gown due to her ex-fiance having a fling with a pal.

The gutted mum-of-one yesterday said she had planned to tie the knot with Black Watch squaddie Dave Notman, 26, in June.

Kerry, 27, of Dunfermline, who wants £100 for the dress, admitted: “I cannot deny, it is a slight bit of revenge.

“I’m not normally one for posting private stuff on Facebook but I was just thinking, ‘I need to get this wedding dress out of my life.’

“And I thought, ‘The guy’s an a ****** e, so I’ll warn all the girls in Dunfermline what he’s like.’”

Former soldier Kerry said she’s thrilled with the response to her ad on Facebay Fife, adding: “I can’t believe what’s happened.

“Within an hour of my post going up, I had 600-odd likes. The reaction’s been great. I’ve had marriage proposals and lots of people getting in touch offering support saying, ‘Don’t worry.’

“And guys have been saying, ‘We’re not all bad, some people are just sick’, so it did cheer me up.

“I put it on for a wind-up. That’s just my sort of banter.

“I still haven’t sold the dress though, unfortunately. I could really do with the money.”

Kerry added: “I know for a fact Dave’s had a thing with my friend because another friend of mine got sent PMs between the two of them. “Of course he’s denying it, but he’s not only been having a thing with her, he’s also slept with half of Dunfermline town.” But Dave insisted he had been smeared by Kerry, who he said is jealous that he’s started a new relationship. He said: “The situation is that me and Kerry split up before Christmas. “It just got to a point where it wasn’t working, so we called it a day before Christmas and as far as I was concerned that was it. “I’d proposed and she’d bought the dress but we didn’t actually have a wedding date. We were kind of getting towards that stage but then it wasn’t to be.”

He added: “She was trying to make me jealous by sending a Snapchat pic of her and another guy in our bed, because we used to have a flat together. I didn’t rise to that.

“Then I started seeing another girl about a month ago. We’ve posted a couple of pictures because we’re happy together and

I think that’s why she’s put this advert up.

“I was surprised to see her post. I texted her asking, ‘Where have you got this information, because it’s wrong?’ I didn’t even get a reply.

“The idea of me and Kerry’s pal is so untrue. I’ve known her since I was a wee boy and I have never, ever gone near her.”

Dave said he thought it was hilarious that the wedding dress advert had gone viral.

He said: “All my mates were taking screenshots of the post and sending me it and I was just having a wee giggle to myself.

“It didn’t even bother me. I was like, ‘Whatever.’”

But he added: “Because of what she’s said in it, it kind of makes me look like I’m a cheating b ***** d, so I kind of want to clear my name.”

Kerry’s friend did not respond to a request for comment.
