Due to the award of new, and the renewal of existing Gas Contracts in Scotland, Kier Utilities needs more Enthusiastic, Collaborative and Forward Thinking people to help us fulfil our vision to be a world-class, customerfocused company that invests in, builds, maintains and renews the places where we live, work and play as we expand our gas operations here in Scotland. Kier Utilities operates across the UK’s water, gas, electricity and telecoms sectors. For 25 years we have been increasing the performance of our clients’ networks by designing, constructing, maintaining, repairing and enhancing assets. Our framework agreements in Scotland require us to lay 60km of new Gas PE pipe, complete all of the associated all connection works – including backfill and reinstatement, labour provision and network maintenance. We delivered above-and-below-ground gas distribution works, from large scale replacement projects of up to 10km in length to small, intricate engineering works. Examples included river crossings, district governor and DPG installations and the fabrication and building of pipe-decks. The works were carried out in a variety of environments, from congested city centres to countryside locations. Kier Utilities has an uncompromising commitment to improving health, safety and well-being – for our people, and the members of public who live and work in the environments where we operate, and also through the services that our clients deliver to their customers. We maintain, repair and enhance assets to make them inherently safer, and inspect, test and certify structures in accordance with standards set out by statute law or the manufacturer. We plan and manage our tasks carefully to minimise the risk of service strikes during excavations. Our people have a detailed situational awareness, supported by information systems that provide them with real-time data on health, safety and well-being. This ensures that they make the right decisions in a timely way.
