KIM Kardashian left her fans outraged and bewildered yesterday after she transformed herself into the Virgin Mary. The reality TV star released a new Kimoji – her range of phone emojis – showing her dressed like Jesus’s mum in traditional Catholic imagery. Surrounding her were flowers, clouds and a heavenly aura that’s as bright as her contouring products. But not everyone was thrilled with this miraculous image change. Twitter was not impressed with her latest incarnation. “What has happened to you Kim?” one fan asked. “Are you that desperate for attention that you have to mock a religious figure? You are a disgrace if you think that this is OK.” Others branded her “disrespectful”, “despicable”, “distasteful”, “shameful”, “extremely disgusting” and “low”.
To make matters even stranger, she turned up to film her reality show in a barely-there voile mini dress with an image of Jesus nestling where the bow on her bra should be.
As well as the son of God, her undercrackers were clearly visible through the fabric.
It probably makes sense for a publicityhungry TV star to upset the religious folks of the world.
It didn’t seem to do any harm to the career of Mr Kardashian, also known as rapper Kanye West.
His 2013 album Yeezus included the song I Am a God. Sample lyric: “I just talked to Jesus. He said, ‘What up, Yeezus?”
Both Kim and Kanye claim to be Christians. They love Jesus. They just love the kind of controversy that sells albums and emojis even more.
