Anger over McGuinness hell banner
AN OBSCENE banner mocking the death of Martin McGuinness sparked fury after it was draped on a motorway bridge near Glasgow yesterday.
The poster, which said “Martin McGuinness s **** c **** in hell”, was stuck to an overpass on the M8 near Baillieston as Celtic and Rangers met in the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park.
Another two posters had the words “No Surrender Rangers FC” and “Baillieston True Blues” spraypainted on them.
McGuinness, the former IRA commander who became Northern Ireland’s deputy first minister, died last month from a heart condition.
The banner sparked outrage. Paul Brown wrote on social media: “And the bile begins.” Kevin McManus added: “Horrendous.”
