Step up for more energy

WALKING up and down stairs for 10 minutes gives office workers a bigger energy boost than the caffeine in a can of cola, according to scientists.

Researcher­s at the University of Georgia in the US found that taking the stairs at a low-intensity pace helped staff feel less sluggish.

Professor Patrick O’Connor said: “With exercise, they felt more energetic and vigorous. But with the caffeine, we didn’t get as big an effect.”
