Don’t let Tories in

THE upcoming General Election has similarities to 1983.

Labour had a left-wing leader, Michael Foot, who went to the electorate with a manifesto which was described as the longest suicide note in history.

Thatcher and the Tories won, followed by industrial closures and massive unemployment.

I know we live in different times economically but hopefully history won’t repeat itself. B Park, Bathgate
