I’d love double for spot on wall of fame

- MICHAEL GANNON

YOU won’t be able to scrape Mark Reynolds off the ceiling if he can seal another spot on the great walls of Pittodrie.

The Aberdeen defender was part of the side that lifted the League Cup in 2014.

And now Reynolds wants to grab a place among the Dons greats by becoming a double cup winner. He said: “You saw the scenes after we won the League Cup.

“The Scottish Cup is the bigger cup and it’s steeped in history, especially the history Aberdeen has of winning it.

“It will be massive. We want to put ourselves on the walls of Pittodrie alongside some of the club’s greatest players.

“We’ve been lucky enough to win a final and know how good it is afterwards. It’s another huge day that means a lot to us, the staff, the fans and everyone at Aberdeen.

“At the start of the season we wanted to put ourselves in a position to be 90 minutes away from a trophy and we’ve done that twice.

“The first time didn’t go to plan but we have the chance to get some redemption now and put things right by getting the trophy on the last day of the season.”
