Spice Girl fights to stop him seeing her kids
LAWYERS for Mel B have accused her estranged husband Stephen Belafonte of making porn movies.
They made the claim at a court in Los Angeles as the former Spice Girl fought to maintain a ban on Belafonte seeing her children.
Mel’s lawyer Larry Bakman said they had evidence that Belafonte was “involved in running pornographic sites”.
He suggested that if the children were allowed to see him, visits might take place “in a residence he is using to film adult pornography”.
He added that the kids could gain access to computers Belafonte used for his porn business.
Belafonte, who was in court, looked tearful over the claims.
His lawyer Grace Jamra claimed it was Mel who was harmful to the children, saying: “Mother Theresa doesn’t marry Attila The Hun.”
Jamra said there was “an ongoing smear campaign” against her client.
Belafonte and Mel have a daughter, Madison, five. She also has a daughter, Angel, 10, whose father is film star Eddie Murphy. The case was continued. Mel, 41, has made a string of claims against Belafonte in their bitter divorce battle. She says he physically assaulted her, got their nanny pregnant and used films he made of threesomes they had with other women to try to blackmail her. Belafonte denies the allegations.
Mel’s lawyers say they have 20 witnesses ready to testify on her behalf and “the pool is growing every day”. They have told the judge they will need 15 days to put forward all their evidence.
