GARY: DOWN TO US TO WIN DROP BATTLE
GARY WARREN admits he is amazed Caley Thistle still have a fighting chance of grasping Premiership survival after a horrible season of repeat setbacks.
Hamilton Accies’ failure to win away to Ross County last night left the Inverness side clinging to a slender thread of hope.
If Richie Foran’s strugglers win at Dens Park tonight and then beat Motherwell at home on Saturday, defeat for Hamilton at Dundee would spare the Highland club an automatic drop into the Championship.
Caley skipper Warren admitted: “It’s still possible to get out of it.
“Five wins all season doesn’t look good but when we’ve still got a chance to survive and it’s mathematically still possible. We have to believe. We have to keep fighting for our futures – ultimately that’s what we’re playing for.
“We’re playing for our pride but also our livelihoods and those of others employed by the club.
“We have families to take care of, futures to take care of, and it’s up to the boys to knuckle down and take care of business.
“First of all, we just need to make sure we win our game at Dundee.
“To be fair to Dundee, they’ve gone on a decent run under Neil McCann, hitting form at the right

time. They’ll be tough but if we want to stay in this division we have to fight and scrap and give ourselves a chance.
“That belief has to come from every single one of us.
“We can’t just talk the talk, as we do when we stand up in front of the cameras and the press, we need to now show we can actually win games.”
Warren has never been embroiled in a relegation fight before.
Most of his Caley days since arriving under Terry Butcher have involved top-six football and big cup occasions.
But the 32-year-old added: “For me it’s not about letting other people down, it’s about letting myself down.
“I take great personal pride in my own performances and how I conduct myself and perform on a match day.
“It’s hard to take given some of the success good times we’ve had over the last four or five years.
“It is frustrating – it has been a frustrating season.
“I look at myself and ask how I could have done better, how I could have improved or helped the team more as a captain.”
