Beauty firm tell Paul to stop using their name to promote rave tour

A CLUB promoter who hosted party nights across Scotland called Yer Da Sells Avon has been ordered to quit using the name of the beauty brand.

Paul Zitkus, 31, put together the I am a Raver tour, which featured hardcore acts such as DJ Rankin, Gary McF and DJ Cammy.

They were joined by cult hero Gary Clitcher – the MC behind 2017 Scottish dance hit Yer Da Sells Avon.

But cosmetics firm Avon have now ordered Paul to stop using the “damaging” title for his gigs... and offered him a job as a home-seller for the brand.

Alison Price, head of marketing at Avon, wrote: “At Avon, we are a proud to be known as ‘the company for women’ and feel this tour could be damaging to our brand.

“We do have male representatives but we feel your tour name is a mockery to their hard work and dedication.

“We also do not give permission to use our logo on any artwork and would ask if you could rename the tour and remove our logo.

“We hope you understand our concerns and we are sure your events will still be a success.” But Alison made sure there were no hard feelings by offering Paul a job.

She added: “If you are interested in becoming an Avon representative in your area, you can apply online.”

Yesterday, Paul said he was gobsmacked when the letter dropped through his door.

He added: “I just laughed when I read it. I was shocked they even found out about our tour.

“I spoke with our designer and we haven’t even used their logo, although it’s similar, so I don’t plan on changing anything.

“As generous as the offer was to become a rep, I don’t think it would be fair on my children.”
