PAUL POGBA has dedicated Manchester United’s emotional Europa League success to the victims of Monday’s terror attack.

The midfielder opened the scoring against Ajax then said they wanted to win for all those killed and injured in the atrocities at the Manchester Arena. The French star said: “We know things like this are very sad, all over the world – in London and Paris. “We had to focus, it was important. We won it for Manchester, we worked for them, for the country. “We play for England, for Manchester

From Back Page and for all the people who died.”

Pogba was delighted to add the Europa League to the EFL Cup and the Community Shield with victory sealing a place in next season’s Champions League.

He said: “We did it, we’re very proud. This time we had a bad season but we have three trophies, we will enjoy it now.

“The start was important, we scored early and settled down. Everyone was very focused, we did a great performance.”

His goal and the win were especially poignant for Pogba and he pointed to the heavens in memory of his late dad, Fassou Antoine, after scoring the opener in the first half at the Friends Arena.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who bagged United’s second goal, said: “After the last game against Celta Vigo I was dreaming about scoring in the Final and I did.”

Juan Mata said: “We came here with one option – to win a trophy the club had never won and we did it so we are happy.

“After what happened in Manchester we really wanted to win this.

“It has been a difficult week for the city of Manchester and we tried to win for the people who have suffered. This trophy is for them.”
