Labour close gap in polls

-

LABOUR have closed the gap on the Tories to just five points, an opinion poll revealed yesterday.

With less than two weeks to go in the general election campaign, a new YouGov poll put Labour up three on 38 per cent with the Tories slipping one point to 43 per cent.

The survey was carried out after the horrific suicide bombing in Manchester.

However, Tory leader Theresa May is still more “popular” than Labour rival Jeremy Corbyn. She is on plus one compared with Corbyn on minus 16.

When May called the snap election last month, the Tories had what looked like an uncatchable lead of as much as 24 points over Labour.
