Bird’s car-azy nesting site

AN OYSTERCATCHER has nested on Orkney’s busiest roundabout.

The bird, nicknamed Millie, is incubating three eggs as cars and lorries thunder by.

Local wildlife expert Martin Gray said: “Some birds will nest close to humans, even if it is a bit uncomfortable for them, because our presence keeps predators at bay.”
