such a big day for me. I’m proud of my achievement but when you’re a certain type of player the performance, not just your own but the team’s, is very important.

“There’s an element of pride in that and it was an anticlimax because we didn’t perform to our real levels as a group.

“Doumbe’s winning goal probably summed up the game – a scrappy goal and a scrappy final.

“It was Neil Lennon’s final game so it should have been one to remember for Celtic, winning the Double but it was an anticlimax.

“The most important thing was the outcome but it’s not a game that lives long in the memory.

“The previous year I experienced celebrations with Hearts but after the 2007 final the party was an anticlimax.

“We’d won the league weeks before the Final and sometimes you lose that little bit of edge and it’s hard to regain it.”

But Pressley reckons the fact Celts had their unbeaten league run to maintain until the final league game means they will be on top of their game this afternoon.

He said: “The Treble would be an amazing achievement because of the manner in which they’ve played.

“They deserve great credit. They won the league at a canter but there is still a real determination about them. That had a lot to do with chasing their Invincible record which helped keep the edge going.”
