Rodgers and Martin O’Neill. The main one is their man-management style. They also both like to entertain and the fans enjoy the football.

“I was very happy to be part of Celtic history and Martin did a lot for my career. I’m not scared about what lies ahead for the current side because I really like Brendan.”

Agathe made an emotional return to his former stomping ground on Sunday when he took part in the Celtic Foundation Charity match in front of 60,000 supporters as Henrik’s Heroes beat Lubo’s Legends 5-2.

The former player was humbled that Rodgers took time out to speak to him and revealed the Celtic manager knew all about his career and his achievements with the Hoops.

Agathe said: “Before the game Brendan came over and spoke to me. I felt privileged because I really like him. He knew all about my Celtic career.”

Agathe was also blown away by the reception of the supporters.

He said: “Celtic are what we are because of the fans. It is a privilege to play in front of 60,000 fans at Celtic.

“Of course you work hard to come here but not a lot of clubs can attract that many fans for a charity match.”

VETERANS of the Champions League group stages the threat of BATE could hardly be clearer.

Last season was the first time in four years they failed to get through the qualifying rounds and will be determined to make up for that shock this time around.

Ronny Deila’s Hoops hit a low in 2014 after a 1-0 defeat at Parkhead just weeks after being reinstated following defeat to Legia Warsaw. Celtic supporters could be forgiven for wanting to steer well clear.

CYPRIOT champions for the last five years, Nicosia are looking to get back into the lucrative group stages of the Champions League for the first time in three years.

They excelled in the Europa League last season, however, where they reached the last 16 after beating the likes of Astana, Olympiakos, Young Boys and Athletic Bilbao. A dangerous proposition for any side – particularly in Cyprus.
