And the former Falkirk striker reckons old-school centre-half Alves will give Celtic midfield lynchpin Scott Brown a run for his money in the aggression stakes as he even hates losing in training.

The new Light Blues stopper arrived in Glasgow earlier this week to put the seal on a £500,000 deal from Cagliari.

Moutinho said: “Alves is a total warrior. If you go into battle you want Bruno by your side.

“Even in training when you are playing a game he is desperate to win and hates to lose.

Bruno go up against Scott Brown this season. He is a similar type of player to Brown.

“He is full of aggression and doesn’t flinch from anything. He will not turn his back or shirk a challenge. He will never lose his temper or his head nor will he lose control or just snap and kick somebody as that is not his game.

“He will be aggressive but in the right manner. I think Bruno is tailor made for the Scottish game.

“This is a guy who has 89 caps for Portugal and has played at the top level in the Champions League.

“He has loads of experience and he will be able to do a good job at Rangers.”
