SCOTT SINCLAIR insists he’s not disappointed to be swapping the big game for the Big Apple.
The Celtic star is on holiday in New York after failing to win a place in England’s squad for the Scotland showdown a week on Saturday.
Sinclair’s award-winning season wasn’t enough for Gareth Southgate but the winger is adamant he’s not upset by the snub.
He said: “I honestly wasn’t disappointed. All I can do is keep my head down and do as well as I can on the football pitch.
“I need to score goals and win trophies for Celtic. When I get that call from England it will be great. If it doesn’t come then I just go on holiday again.
“My whole psyche is just to enjoy playing football for Celtic. If an international call comes, great. If not, then no problem.”
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is likely to benefit from Sinclair’s lack of international action.
The ex-Aston Villa star will get three weeks of rest before he’s back in training ahead of the Champions League qualifiers.
Sinclair said: “We want to get into the group stage again and then hopefully progress even further than we did this season.
“There were a few additions at the start of last season. Everyone knows each other now and we have got better and better.
“Now I can go on holiday and relax but we’ll all come back stronger for the new season ahead.”
