JIM CHAPMAN is confident he has done enough to persuade former Scotland striker David Goodwillie to remain at Clyde.

The ex-Dundee United, Blackburn, Aberdeen, Ross County and Plymouth Argyle frontman joined the League Two side on a short-term deal in March.

Goodwillie has told Chapman – who is also confident David Gormley will return – he wants to stay and the paperwork is expected to be completed tomorrow.

The Clyde boss said: “Both Davids are keen to carry on playing at Clyde. The next stage is to turn that commitment into action and I’m hoping that will happen soon.”

Ross Forsyth, 34, has bowed out of Stirling Albion after 10 years over two spells at the club.

The defender – player/assistant under boss Dave Mackay last season – is to be awarded with a testimonia­l and he said: “There are some great memories I’ll hold on to.”
