A MOVIE is being made on the Orkney Islands to raise funds for a charity supporting the children of fallen soldiers.

Safe Space starts shooting next month in what’s believed to be the first production of its kind in the UK.

The finished film will be available to supporters of Scotty’s Little Soldiers to hold their own public screenings.

All profits from tickets will go to the charity, who help youngsters who have lost a parent serving in the armed forces. The thriller is about two opportunist thieves who break into what they think is an isolated farmhouse, but find it’s occupied by an agoraphobic man.

He’s taken hostage, forcing him to face his fears and fight back.

Actress Celia Castresana, 31, is playing one of the leads. Celia, originally from Spain, has lived in Edinburgh for 11 years with husband Stephen, 33, and they have five-year-old twin daughters. She said: “I will be playing the role of Emm. She’s a very nasty person.

“I am looking forward to taking part in this project to support Scotty’s Little Soldiers”.

Scotty’s Little Soldiers was set up by Nikki Scott, who lost husband Corporal Lee Scott when he was killed in Afghanistan in 2009, leaving her with two young children.

Nikki said: “Any money raised goes a long way for the children we support and helps put more smiles on faces.”

The film will be available to supporters of Scotty’s Little Soldiers, letting them show it and charge a fee. They’ll receive a DVD or Blu-ray to screen at venues such as village halls over six months.

Safe Space will then get a general digital release and on DVD/Blu-ray. To donate to the project, go to www.gofundme.com/dday24-hour-challenge
