Hayes move in 48 hours

-

From Back Page return to Pittodrie holding up the deal.

Christie is unwilling to make a permanent switch to the Dons from Celtic but could make another loan move in a separate deal to the Hayes contract.

Cardiff are back in the chase for Hayes after seeing three bids of up to £750,000 knocked back in January.

Birmingham boss Harry Redknapp was bowled over by the wideman’s display in the Scottish Cup Final and is also interested.

And former Rangers manager Mark Warburton is another fan of the Irishman.

He is believed to be monitoring Hayes and could try to tempt him to Nottingham Forest.

Celtic are in pole position though as Hayes is keen on hooking up with Rodgers who was his boss when he was a youngster coming through the ranks at Reading.

Meanwhile, the Hoops manager is facing a fight to land Sunderland striker Fabio Borini.

The frontman, who played for Rodgers at Liverpool and Swansea, is available for £6m but AC Milan are in the hunt to take the 26-year-old back to Italy.

The San Siro men are also keeping tabs on Hoops ace Moussa Dembele – along with several others including English champs Chelsea and German giants Borussia Dortmund.

Dembele is rated at £30m and firm bids for the hitman are expected at Parkhead.
