KILMARNOCK director John Kiltie wants fed-up fans to deliver on their promise to flock back to Rugby Park now director Michael Johnston has gone.

Disillusioned supporters stayed away over the former club chairman’s presence on the board with many vowing not to return until he left.

They got their wish when Johnston stepped away last month, paving the way for a reshuffle that saw ex-club secretary Kirsten Callaghan appointed chief executive.

And Kiltie said: “The times are changing at Kilmarnock. There’s a total restructure at admin, boardroom level and the managerial running of the team.

“There’s an elite academy coming on that’ll have new people on board to comply with SFA regulations set out in Project Brave.

“It (Johnston’s departure) will certainly help with season tickets. We are already up about 250 to 300 sales compared to this time last year and the commercial revenue has gone up as well. It has already made a difference but we’re still hoping more will come along.”

Meanwhile, Kiltie confirmed the club will not lose out on a slice of the £1million transfer fee for the sale of Souleymane Coulibaly in January after the striker went AWOL from Egyptian club Al Ahly.

He added: “There were some add-ons based on him making a certain number of appearances but we have been paid up fully for his transfer fee.”
