Johnsen openshis Heartto bossLars

- ALAN MARSHALL

BJORN JOHNSEN has spoken to Norway boss Lars Lagerback about where his future lies.

The Hearts striker, 25, was involved in a bust-up with head coach Ian Cathro as they headed up the tunnel at half-time during a defeat to St Johnstone last month.

It was suggested the Norwegian reacted when Cathro slated his effort.

But his career is on the up after a first Norway shout for Saturday’s World Cup tie against Czech Republic.

Johnsen insists it’s all been smoothed over with Cathro but doesn’t know what the future holds.

He said: “The relationship with the coach is fine. I’m an emotional man. It was a rough time for the club.

“I had a long-range shot that missed and I was frustrated not to score.

“But what happens now I don’t know. I’ve talked a little with Lars Lagerback about what is best for me but I’m here for the national team.”

Johnsen believed he should have won a cap when he scored a hat-trick for Lovech in Bulgaria.

When the call finally came he was on holiday in Jamaica with his girlfriend and it was the middle of the night in his homeland.

He said: “I saw it was a Norwegian number and thought maybe it was the grandmother or something.

“But it was Lagerback and assistant Per Joar Hansen at the other end. They told me I was included in the squad.

“I called my father. The whole family went crazy.”
