GOGGLESPROGS

C4, 8pm DON’T let their size fool you – the kiddie critics here are surprisingly insightful, or otherwise unintentionally funny.

Yes, the children have been given control of the television remotes again, which means jumping on the sofa and hugging your teddy bear is allowed (them not us). Due to the logistics of filming with youngsters, it’s not all as up-to-the-minute as its grown-up counterpart. But the children have been watching a range of shows from recent months – everything from the news, to classic films and documentaries.

We even get their honest opinions on the General Election, with Jacob, 12, pitching the idea of Aquaman as our new leader.

But there are other big questions to consider, such as whether Mary Berry’s rice pudding is really burnt? (Of course not, don’t be ridiculous).

And what does “keeping you regular” mean?

A rather stinky experiment on Food Unwrapped gives them the answer to that one.

Molly, six, and her eight-year-old brother William are a bit confused as they watch Danny and Sandy frolic on a beach in the movie Grease. Didn’t they go to “Grease” on holiday?

There are gasps of horror during the final dramatic scenes of Disney’s animation Beauty and the Beast – with Christina, 11, adding: “He needs a haircut”. Totally true.

And there’s horseplay too, as Toby, 12, challenges his friend Sam and Sam’s little brother James to eat dog biscuits, while Joel, 11, and Roma, nine, spontaneously leap up and start ballroom dancing.

If you’re too mature to love this show, your kids certainly will.
