Efe signs up on a full-time deal with the Hibees
EFE AMBROSE completed his move to Hibs yesterday on a two-year deal.
The 28-year-old Nigeria international has joined Neil Lennon’s side following a short-term loan from Celtic towards the end of last season.
Ambrose made 12 appearances and looked impressive as the Easter Road outfit won the Championship.
The defender, who has operated at centre-back and right-back, required an endorsement from the SFA and a visa prior to his contract being ratified.
However, with the paperwork complete he will re-join the Hibees squad ahead of their return to the Premiership next season.
On the club’s website chief executive Leeann Dempster said: “Efe is a player of real quality and one who excited the fans when he arrived on a short-term deal.
“The club as a whole are delighted to be bringing in a player with his quality and experience.
“Neil was really keen to get Efe over the line and we’re delighted to have been able to do that.
“Bringing in a player like Efe is a real coup for the club and the supporters played their part.
“We now have over 11,300 season-ticket holders. This is the sort of backing that helps us to bring in players with his quality as we prepare for an exciting season ahead.”
Ambrose joins Simon Murray and Danny Swanson as a summer signing as gaffer Lennon prepares for next season.
