Joe: I want spot with Seaman in Auld tales

- CRAIG SWAN

JOE HART hopes to recreate David Seaman’s renowned penalty save to break Scots hearts all over again.

The England keeper’s standout memory of the Auld Enemy fixture is when the two sides met at Euro 96.

Hart was just nine years old when Seaman denied Gary McAllister en route to Craig Brown’s team being dumped 2-0 at Wembley.

Now between the sticks, Hart wants a memorable moment of his own while helping Gareth Southgate’s side seal a Group F win.

He said: “I remember Seaman’s save because he was a big hero of mine.

“Saturday is going to be another special evening. They have a very passionate coach who’s going to put a lot of thought into this game.

“There’s no way of getting away from it – we’re walking into an atmosphere of people who don’t want us to win. Some of us thrive on that.”

Hart, 30, has endured an unsettling time having been rejected by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

The goalie, loaned out to Torino last season, said: “It’s obvious I have no chance of playing for England if I’m not playing for a club team.

“Gareth doesn’t need to say that. I’ll have to sort my immediate future out.

“But I have the luxury at the moment of being part of the national team. I can only do my best on the field and let everything else take care of itself.”

Hart hasn’t conceded a goal in England’s first five World Cup qualifiers and added: “We’ve been solid.

“We have a good balance and that’s what we’re trying to build because as much as we have amazing flair and talent, we need us guys to be solid at the back.”
