I WOULD LOVE TO GRAB A HAMPDEN HAT-TRICK

Cocky Kane is desperate to put Scots to the sword

- CRAIG SWAN

HUNGRY Harry Kane insists he’s heading to Hampden hunting a famous hat-trick.

The England star arrives in Glasgow for the World Cup showdown with all guns blazing after a blistering end to the campaign for Spurs.

Kane smashed eight goals in his last three English Premier League games to collect a second straight Golden Boot.

Now the 23-year-old aims to boost his England tally of five goals in 17 appearances.

Kane is looking to extend

his red-hot streak and boost his international scoring ratio.

He said: “If I score maybe a hat-trick at the weekend and a couple in the next game, the ratio might not look so bad.

“In club football you’re in a rhythm all the time.

“You are playing week-in, week-out but for your country it is not like that as you meet up every now and then.

“But it is something I have to get used to. I want to get back playing and get back scoring.

“As a striker you can always change that. Five in 17 isn’t a terrible record but it is something I want to improve.

“Hopefully that can start at the weekend.

“It is not often you score seven goals in two games to finish a season and to claim the Golden Boot as well.

“I would love to score on Saturday and get that feeling again. It feels like ages since I last played.

“I’ve always had to prove people wrong to get where I am now. International football is no different.

“I’ve always said, to be a world-class striker, you have to do it at club and international level.

“Five in 17 isn’t the worst record in the world.

“Hopefully I can get a couple, three or four or whatever it may be and try to get back on that scoresheet.”

Kane believes the entire England squad is ready to go for Hampden and added: “We’re not thinking too much about ending Scotland’s chances. We are thinking about ourselves and qualifying, that’s all we really care about.

“We have fantastic players in the squad and other players who have scored plenty of goals this season.

“So I don’t think that burden falls all on me.

“As a striker the players are always going to look at you for goals.

“I am pretty comfortable with that.”
