A TEENAGER has appeared in court charged with drugs offences following the death of a 14-year-old girl.

Zoe Bremner was found dead in a Glasgow city-centre flat in the early hours of Sunday.

A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at the city’s sheriff court yesterday, charged with the supply of a controlled substance. He made no plea and was released on bail.

A boy and a girl, both 15, were taken to hospital after falling ill at the flat where Zoe died. They were released later.

Emergency services raced to Dundasvale Court in the Cowcaddens area after receiving a 999 call.

Police previously said Zoe’s death was being treated as unexplained and revealed that drug use was a line of inquiry.

The schoolgirl’s body was discovered on the eve of her 15th birthday.

Her older sister Rebecca tweeted: “Happy 15th birthday to my angel in the sky.

“Still can’t get my head around it, princess. Not only my sister but my best friend. Love you loads.”

Abbi Watt wrote: “Just want to wish the biggest happy birthday to my best friend up in heaven.”

Paramedics found Zoe dead and her two friends ill at 12.45am on Sunday.

The teenagers had been at a party in Yoker, near Clydebank, until late afternoon on Saturday before moving on to the Cowcaddens flat.

Zoe was a pupil at Knightswood Secondary School in Glasgow. Headteacher Kay Dingwall paid tribute to a “really lovely girl”.

A justgiving.com page has raised more than £2000 for Zoe’s funeral costs.
