Biggest 10 days of my life
RYAN JACK has just enjoyed the biggest 10 days of his life. Now he’s looking to help Rangers back to the summit of the Scottish game to also secure his biggest achievement in football. Jack is getting his feet under the table at his new team’s Auchenhowie HQ during a first week of training with his new club. The 25-year-old is now getting back to onfield matters after a whirlwind spell of off-field activity that started with signing for Rangers from Aberdeen, ended with a first training session under Pedro Caixinha and had the small matter of a stag do and wedding to partner Ashleigh in the middle. Jack said: “It’s been a massive 10 days and not just my life but my wife and my daughter’s lives as well. They’ve been a part of it. They’ve had to move down as well. “That’s why I never booked a honeymoon. She fully understands. She knew I was out of contract in the summer and I knew the chances were I would have to be straight back in. “When I spoke to the manager he said he wanted me in on the Monday and I told her there would be plenty of times we could go away on honeymoon together. “I knew the squad had been in for a week so I didn’t want to miss too much pre-season or the work that was going on. “I was delighted to come back and maybe later on I’ll look back on it as being a massive part of my life.” For that to be the case Jack is going to need success at Rangers. Despite the large gulf between Celtic and Rangers last season, Caixinha wants that yawning gap bridged immediately and the supporters are the same. The manager could have as many as 10 new players in his overhaul if he adds Graham Dorrans and Jamie Walker to his current batch of summer recruits and sights have been set high by the boss.
