Schauffele determined to be name fans remember

SURPRISE package Xander Schauffele is confusing starstruck fans who don’t know who he is and can’t pronounce his name.

The 23-year-old qualifier made a late burst on to the leaderboard on Thursday evening – then shot a steady 73 yesterday for five under.

Schauffele said: “It’s funny, I’ll sign some autographs and kids will be like, ‘Dad, who is that?’ And Schauffele is a pretty weird name to remember.”
