Choir leader guilty of theft after Carnegie Hall concert Treasury supremo weds Scot
A SCOTS supporter of Donald Trump was convicted of theft linked to a trip to New York on which she met the US president.
Shenna Fox, 48, who voices her support for Trump to 24,000 Twitter followers, told members of Lanark & Carluke Choral Union that the famous Carnegie Hall had invited them to play.
The 34-strong group played the venue in January 2015 and later performed for Trump. But pianist Fox had not told them there was a $21,000 fee to play Carnegie Hall – and she had gone into debt to pay it.
The truth came out when she tried to get out of debt by forging signatures on $3360 worth of Choral Union cheques.
She was ordered to do 180 hours’ community work after admitting theft at Lanark Sheriff Court in February. Fox, who tweets as DeplorablyScottish, and her husband were also thrown out of the Choral Union.
She has previously spoken of playing for Trump at his Turnberry golf resort and striking up a friendship with his security chief Keith Schiller.

Trump and First Lady Melania were guests of honour at the ceremony in Washington DC on Saturday.
It is the third marriage for former Goldman Sachs banker Mnuchin, 54.
Bride Louise Linton, 36, has appeared in a number of films.
The Edinburgh-born actress, who has also been married before, was educated at private Fettes College.
Her self-published book about her gap year in Africa sparked controversy last year, with critics panning it as an inaccurate “jungle narrative”. was only when we got back we realised there was a massive charge for taking part.
“She didn’t want to tell anyone in case the trip got cancelled.
“It looks like it had been her ambition to go over and suck up to Donald Trump, too.”
The source added Trump, who had yet to announce his run for the presidency at the time, “seemed to love” the Burns songs they played for him.
Fox’s solicitor, Alex Devanney, told the court that private gain was “never her motive”.
