Gangster has lifesaving op after attack
Daniel discovered slashed at home
GANGSTER Jamie Daniel has undergone lifesaving surgery after being targeted in a knife attack.
He had the op last night after being knifed in his flat by two masked men on Saturday.
Detectives have now launched an investigation and are trying to trace those responsible.
Daniel, 41, who sources say has been battling substance abuse, was found injured at Liddlesdale Road in Glasgow’s Milton.
He is the brother of Robert Daniel, who was shot earlier this year outside his home in Stepps.
Named after his uncle, the late crime boss Jamie Daniel, he is said to have been released from prison earlier this month and has been staying with his girlfriend.
Detectives cordoned off part of the street while forensics experts took photos and officers carried out door-to-door inquiries.
Police believe a black Audi estate car, which was later found burnt out in Lambhill Cemetery on Tresta Road, is linked to the attack. The incident happened at around 1.40pm.
On Saturday, the Record told how the home of gangland boss Steven “Bonzo” Daniel, 37 – also the nephew of crime boss Jamie Daniel – was under police guard after he was injured in a machete attack in May.
Detective Chief Superintendent Kenny Graham said: “We believe this was a targeted attack and part of an ongoing feud in the north of the city.
“But for men to be running about with knives, driving at speed along busy roads and burning a car in broad daylight in a busy residential area shows no regard for others that could have become involved or hurt.”
