Lawes in theframe

COURTNEY LAWES says he’s ready to answer a call to arms for the Lions when they take on New Zealand in the second Test in Wellington on Saturday.

The England lock has put himself right back in the mix by starring against the Hurricanes in Tuesday’s 31-31 draw.

He said: “At England we have a pretty hard regime and we’ve played some pretty tough Tests so I’m ready.

“It’ll be a quick game but that’s what we want. We want to be out there against the best.”

Lawes was substituted in 53 minutes in the Hurricanes clash and asked if his early substitution represents a positive sign about Test match selection he said: “I’ve no idea, we’ll just wait and see.

“I went out and did everything I could. It’s not up to me any more but I am feeling confident if I do get called up.” MO FARAH has revealed he intends to retain his links with controversial coach Alberto Salazar beyond his track farewell at this summer’s World Athletics Championships in London.

The four-time Olympic champion will run the 10,000 metres in the Golden Spike meeting in the Czech Republic today.

Yet despite rumours he has distanced himself from Salazar, Farah insisted the American – who remains under investigation by the US Anti-Doping Agency – will oversee his full-time move on to the road circuit next year.

He said: “Nothing is changing in terms of my coach.”
