Dad’s fears for Love Island Tyla
Tyla’s dad to bring in security after viewers’ death threats
THE father of Love Island’s Tyla Carr is to hire bodyguards for his daughter after she received online death threats.
Trolls posted vile messages about Tyla when she revealed on the ITV2 show that she had dated a married man.
The model’s dad Johnny branded the trolls “brainless morons”. He said he plans to use his connections in the UK club scene to hire a team to protect her.
Johnny added: “I’m concerned with her safety but I can enlist security for any of her work and appearances. We have the contacts. I used to run a club in London, so security is not an issue.
“Of course I worry, but these are brainless morons who are probably about 14 years old, sitting in their bedrooms with nothing better to do. Anyone who does that hasn’t got the b **** to do anything.
“I don’t ever get tempted to respond to the trolls because why should I lower myself to their level? They’re idiots.”
Johnny, who lives in Majorca where the reality dating show is being filmed, believes viewers are targeting Tyla, 24, after she coupled up with Jonny Mitchell minutes after he split with fans’ favourite Camilla Thurlow.
Tyla made it clear to viewers that the married man she was dating had told her he was separated. She dumped him when she found out he was still with his wife.
Johnny said: “She’s adamant she will never be the woman on the side. She thinks it’s disgusting for women to have affairs with married men.”
He added: “She’s been unfortunate. Jonny and Camilla were going nowhere. She’s been herself. She’s a normal, nice, sweet girl.”
Speaking during a date with new contestant Jamie Jewitt, Tyla said: “I dated another guy. He was married.”
When Jamie said there was nothing wrong with being a “side chick”, she snapped: “Of course there’s something wrong with being a side chick.”
But some fans labelled her a homewrecker and threatened violence.
One wrote: “She not only took Jonny off Camilla, but she was seeing a married man. Wow Tyla, zero respect for you.”
Another said: “Tyla just done herself no favours admitting she was having an affair with a married man.”
