STYLE SECRETS

-

I MIGHT not be jetting off to sunnier climes like most of you, but I’m not complaining.

Our babysitters (AKA my parents) fly back from Spain for the summer so it’s party time for me and the hubby. It’s been months since we’ve had a night out together, so now we’ve got a chance to make up for it.

All the lovely summer evening dresses that have been stashed at the back of my wardrobe are finally going to get an outing, and I can’t wait to get my glam (and fake tan) on for a Saturday date night.

I think I’m getting a bit old for mini dresses, and I don’t really feel very comfortable showing that much leg unless I’m away on holiday, so midi dresses and skirts are my new favourite thing. Dresses that fall to the knee or just below are great for day and night and you don’t have to worry about how much flesh you’re flashing every time you sit down or stand up.

First on my list of parties was the launch of the Mulberry Amberley bag collection at the Multrees Walk store in Edinburgh. The collection is just gorgeous and the mini satchel style is already top of my new seaso wish-list. Then I’m off to London to check out what’s new in store at House or Frasers for Christmas.

Followed by a girly night out with my fashion editor pals.
