PRODIGY Painter Kieron

BBC1, 7.30pm GRAINY home videos show a little boy painting a picture – nothing out of the ordinary there. But child prodigy Kieron Williamson held his first exhibition aged six and now, at 14, is nicknamed Mini Monet. He is worth £2million.

Buyers from around the world pay thousands for his paintings, with the top price tag to date for one of his artworks being an eye-watering £55,000. And blue chip companies are desperate to snap him up to endorse their products. Samsung, Nintendo and Gap have offered adverts, while scientists want to place electrodes on his head to monitor his brain activity while he paints.

But this charming film shows that Kieron’s success is largely down to a loving family.

Dad Keith, mum Michelle and even his 12-year-old sister Billie Jo skilfully manage Kieron’s career, from acquiring business acumen to a crash course in framing.

Keith even gets up at the crack of dawn to take Kieron to paint on location – an ordinary family with extraordinary talent.

C4, 8.30pm THERE is much to marvel at in this documentary. While most people can’t retire until their 60s or even 70s, there is a growing band of people bucking the trend.

Presenter Anna Richardson and journalists Sophie Morgan and Rhik Samadder meet those who have found ingenious ways to retire super early.

And there are plenty of annoying interviews with smug people sitting on a beach or under a palm tree. Take Canada’s youngest retirees Bryce and PROBE Rhik, Sophie and Anna
