CELTS DEAL
From Back Page expected to sign for a fee in the region of £4million and be available for Friday’s Champions League opener against Linfield in Belfast.
Ntcham has played at every youth level for France and Andrea Mandorlini – his manager at Genoa – claims the Hoops are landing a potential superstar.
Mandorlini said: “Olivier is only a young boy but he has incredible potential and it’s clear he will be a star. He has extraordinary talent.
“I have the highest regard for him. He’s had to work hard this season and there is a lot more to come from him.
“He is a kid who is very comfortable on the ball.
“He scored a really important goal for me last season against Bologna in injury time when he came on as a sub.
“He works hard and he is a happy person, he’s good to be around.
“I always feel when he plays well, the whole team plays well.
“Above all, he has shown a willingness to listen and improve. He has a big future in football if he keeps progressing.”
Ntcham moved to the Etihad from Le Havre’s Academy – after leaving school five years ago – in a deal worth £1m.
Having agreed a five-year deal with City in 2015 before going to Italy, the youngster made over 40 appearances for Genoa.
However, with his future at the Etihad looking clouded, Ntcham is set to move on and Glasgow looks to be the full-time destination.
