NOVAK DJOKOVIC launched a stinging attack on the All England Club yesterday for messing up his Wimbledon campaign – then revealed there is a hole in the middle of the Centre Court surface.

The angry Serb came out swinging after a straightse­ts win over Frenchman Adrian Mannarino yesterday lunchtime in a match that had originally been scheduled to go ahead on Court One on Monday night following the five-set epic which saw Gilles Muller KO Rafa Nadal.

Djokovic moaned his way through the fourthroun­d tie complainin­g about the state of the withered grass around the baseline and carrying out his own running repairs to a pothole which he says has opened up in the centre of a service box.

He said: “Midway through the match I told the umpire about the hole. At the end of the match he wanted me to show him, so I showed him. His reaction wasn’t that great.

“The groundsmen and everyone are doing their best. But let’s just say I’ve played on better courts.

“Many players have said the same thing. I’m not the only one who has been complainin­g about the condition of the court.”

Asked if the most famous court in tennis is now not safe to play on, Djokovic said: “Well, today under the roof it was a bit more slippery in the back of the court especially.
